VSC Welcomes Susan Jackson to the Board of Trustees
The Trustees and Directors of the Vermont Studio Center welcome the appointment of Susan Jackson to the VSC Board.
Susan Jackson was born in Atlanta, Georgia and grew up in the family’s native Connecticut. She graduated from Hollins University in Virginia and the Publishing Procedures Course at Radcliffe College. Her first collection of poems, Through a Gate of Trees, was published by CavanKerry Press in the Spring of 2007.
Jackson is a recipient of fellowships from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation and the Virginia Center for the Creative Arts. She was nominated for a Pushcart Prize and was a reader at the 2008 Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival at Waterloo Village, New Jersey. She serves on the Board of Poets & Writers, Inc., the Liana Foundation and the National Arts Club Literary Committee.
Susan’s poems have received awards from the Grolier Poetry Prize, Allen Ginsburg Prize and have been published in the Paterson Literary Review, Nimrod International Journal, Eleventh Hour Stories among others. Most recently her work was included in When the Muse Calls: Poems for the Creative Life edited by Kathryn Ridall.
