Visiting Artist Shows in NYC

The Vermont Studio Center is proud to be starting 2010 off with an exciting roster of Visiting Artists, many of whom have work currently on view in and around New York. Click here to view our complete schedule of upcoming Visiting Artists and Writers for 2010.

Stanley Whitney, who will be giving a slide lecture at the Center on February 19th, has a solo show at team (gallery, inc.) in Chelsea, Untitled ‘10. Running from the 7th of January to the 6th of February, Team is located at 83 Grand Street, on the ground floor.

Jill Moser will present a solo show, opening February 18th and on display until March 27th at Lennon, Weinberg, Inc. on West 25th Street. New Work: Paintings and Prints will present her latest endeavors, many of which were shared with residents during her visit to VSC in January. She is also in a group show at the Brattleboro Museum & Art Center in Brattleboro, VT; Drawing Itself: A Survey of Contemporary Practice, until February 25th.

Penelope Umbrico, chair of the MFA Photography program at Bard College and core faculty at the School of Visual Arts, will give a slide lecture on February 9th. She currently has a show on view in the Leonard Natman Room at BAM until March 14th. The show explores the history of the space in which she will exhibit with a piece titled Leonards for Leonard and re-imagines an ongoing project, 5,537,594 Suns From Flickr (Partial) 5/30/09 – for BAM.
