Tomasz Rozycki

Tomasz Różycki
Poet – Opole, Poland

A November fellow, Tomasz Rozycki is a poet, critic, and translator living in Opole, Poland. He has published seven books since the mid-1990s, including the Koscielski Prize-winning epic poem Dwanascie Stacji (Twelve Stations, 2004) and the sonnet cycle Kolonie (Colonies, 2006), which was nominated for a NIKE Award. The Forgotten Keys, a selection from his first five books translated into English by Mira Rosenthal, was published by Zephyr Press in 2007.  At the Studio Center, Tomasz has been working on new poems as well as an experimental novel, about the flood in his hometown a few years ago.  ”Peace and nature – the excellent landscape of Johnson helps to find some quiet time for yourself and in the same time you are between the others – very interesting and inspiring artists, painters, sculptors, visual artists from all over the world. The possibility to visit their studios, watch their slideshows and listen to their work is a great opportunity to be inspired and to be close to the art.”

Tomasz Rozycki's residency is organized in association with the Polish Cultural Institute in New York within its Poland-U.S Artists-in-Residence Exchange Program.
