Tom Butter has been showing his work in New York City, nationally, and internationally since 1981.  His exhibitions have been reviewed in many major publications, including Art in America, Artforum, and The New York Times.  Tom has received three National Endowment Grants, two New York Foundation for the Arts Grants.  His work is in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Penna. Academy of Fine Arts, the Walker Art Center, and the Indianapolis Museum of Art.  Butter is on the adjunct faculty of the MFA Fine Arts Program at Parsons the New School For Design.  He has taught at many schools on the East Coast, including RISD, Tyler, University of the Arts, Harvard, Yale, Brandeis and School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.  He currently is contributing to Whitehot Magazine, an internet publication.
