Tom Bills (b.1948, Detroit, MI) attended Macomb County Community College in Michigan and earned a BA in 1974.  He earned  an MFA from Yale University in 1978. His professional career began in 1976 with a one-person exhibition at 112 Greene Street Gallery in NYC and he continues to exhibit widely both nationally and internationally. His home gallery is Don Sokor Gallery in San Francisco, CA.  He was awarded a National Endowment for the Arts Grant, two New York State Foundation Grants, two Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grants and a Guggenheim fellowship. Currently he is a Professor at the University of California, Davis.
