Stuart Shils (b. 1954) studied at the PAFA in Philadelphia, Drew University, Temple University and PCA (now UARTS). Shils is represented in NY by steven harvey fine art projects and Davis and Langdale. And has shown with Tibor de Nagy in New York,  Hackett Freedman, San Francisco, among many others. Awards include an NEA Fellowship, an Academy Award in Painting from the American Academy of Arts and Letters and a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant. He teaches at PAFA and with the Jerusalem Studio School Summer program in Italy. The PBS documentary "Ballycastle" examines aspects of his work on the northwest Irish coast where he worked for 13 summers.
