Stanley Lewis received an MFA from Yale, and a BA from Wesleyan.  He currently teaches at American University, and has taught at Kansas City Art Institute. He has been guest lecturer/visiting artist at over thirty colleges or institutes. Shows include: Bowery Gallery, Watkins Gallery, Wright State, Virginia Tech, Logan Galleries, Kemper Gallery, Washburn U., U. of Missouri, NY Studio School, and KCAI Action Art Center in Kansas City. Grants include Andrew Mellon Faculty Enrichment Grant, UICA Faculty Grant, and a Danforth Fellow for study in Art and Architecture.
