Robert Lobe (b. 1945, Detroit, MI) received a BA from Oberlin and an MA from Hunter College. Solo exhibitions include the Cleveland Museum of Art, Zabriskie Gallery, Blum Hellman Gallery, and Senior & Shopmaker Gallery, where he is represented. His work is in the collections of the Guggenheim, the Walker Art Center, and the Whitney. Throughout his career he has won several major awards including two Pollack-Krasner Grants, and two NEA Fellowships. He has taught at the School of Visual Arts, Parsons, NYU, and William Paterson University, where he is currently on faculty. Lobe lives and works in New York.
