Marjorie Portnow (b. 1942, NYC) received an MFA from Brooklyn College, and is a member of the National Academy of Design. Solo shows include Peter Rose Gallery and Fischbach Gallery, NY; Harcus-Krakow, Boston, and Contemporary Realist Gallery, San Francisco. Group exhibitions include the American Academy of Arts and Letters and Corcoran Gallery. Collections include the Metropolitan Museum, Boston MFA, and Middlebury College. She has received grants from the NEA, Ingram Merrill, Radcliffe (Bunting) Institute, and the Tiffany Foundation. She teaches at Western Connecticut State U. and lives in New York.
