(b. 1945 Brooklyn, NY) Kathleen Gilje holds a BFA from the City College of New York, and studied 16th and 17th century italian art at the Museum of Capodimonte, Naples from 1967-71. She has had numerous major solo exhibitions throughout the U.S. and Canada, including the National Museum of Women in the Arts (Washington, D.C.), Francis Naumann Fine Art (NY), and Bernard Toale Gallery (Boston). Gilje has been featured in articles in Art in America, ARTnews, The New York Times, and The New York Observer.
