Jay Milder (b. 1934, Omaha, NE)  received his education at the University of Nebraska, the Sorbonne, the Art Institute of Chicago, and, in 1957, studied with Hans Hoffman. Recent one person shows include the Museum of Fine Arts, Rio de Janeiro; Hugo Pagano Gallery, NYC; Horace Richter Gallery, Tel Aviv, and the Alitash Kebede Gallery, LA. Milder has taught at the City College of New York, Brooklyn College, Brandeis, and Pratt. Museum collections are numerous and include those of RISD, the New Museum in NYC; the Newark Museum, Yale, Cornell, the Museum of Art in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and the Pinacoteca Museum in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Milder lives and works in NYC.
