Joanna Scott is the author of four novels, including 1997 Pulitzer Prize finalist The Manikin, Fading; My Parmachene Belle; The Closest Possible Union; and Arrogance, a PEN/Faulkner Award finalist; and a short story collection, Various Antidotes, which was a finalist for the 1995 PEN/Faulkner Award. Her work has appeared in Esquire, The Yale Review, The Paris Review, Conjunctions, Epoch, and The Iowa Review. She is the recipient of a MacArthur Fellowship and a Lannan Award. She teaches at the University of Rochester.
