Announcing the ALSCW Fellowship at the Vermont Studio Center

Posted on January 26, 2010 by Gary Clark, VSC Writing Program Director

Beginning in 2010, the Vermont Studio Center will offer the Association of Literary Scholars, Critics, and Writers Fellowship http://www.bu.edu/literary. The fellowship provides an all-inclusive one-month VSC residency for a writer who is a current member of ALSCW, and is open to all of the Association’s creative writers and literary translators.

This Fellowship is one aspect of a strengthening partnership between VSC and ALSCW to support international writing and translation by bringing prominent pairs of writers and translators to VSC for residencies and public forums.  For more information on this collaboration, see www.vermontstudiocenter.org/vsc-lit-program.

ALSCW-members who apply will be considered for the ALSCW Fellowship and any other VSC award for which they may be eligible. Applicants who do not receive a Fellowship will also be considered for grants and financial assistance to lessen the cost of a potential stay at the VSC. The application deadline for the ALSCW Fellowship is February 16, 2010.

All ALSCW applicants should submit a manuscript of creative work with their application; follow the instructions on the VSC application page. Note that in addition to 3 copies of the original poems/translations, literary translators should submit a description of English-language rights, author bio, and translator CV.

To apply, go to www.vermontstudiocenter.org/fellowships to download an application and see details on all of the other VSC awards.
