Andrea Belag is an abstract painter who lives and works in New York. Her work has been shown at Bill Maynes, and in 2007 at Mike Weiss. Her work is in the collections of the Newark Museum, The New Jersey State Museum, The Mead Museum at Amherst College, and the Jersey City Museum, among others. She has been included in group shows The Continuous Mark: 40 Years of the New York Studio School at the NY Studio School and Women and Geometric Abstraction at Pratt. Her awards include a Guggenheim grant, and several fellowships at Yaddo residency. Belag describes her work as follows:

"Slowly, I begin to put paint on canvas. I follow the light and look for a previously undisclosed structure. Painted marks become forms in space and colors create a chord. I am tracking something I have not seen before. The painting stays open until the end. When it's finished it is always a surprise. If not, I start over."
