John Monti (b. 1957, Portland, OR) received a BS from Portland State and an MFA from Pratt. His exhibitions include Elizabeth Harris Gallery, Sculpture Center, Curt Marcus Gallery, Grace Borgenicht Gallery and White Columns in NYC, Inform Gallery in Kanazawa, Japan, and Pence Gallery in Santa Monica. Monti has done set designs for The Joyce Theater, Danspace Project and Bessie Schonberg Theater. Awards include a Joan Mitchell Grant, a Tiffany, NY Foundation Grant, an NEA Grant, and a Pollock-Krasner Grant. He has been a visiting artist at colleges throughout the country including RISD, Cranbook, Dartmouth and Barnard, and is currently Sculpture Coordinator at Pratt. Monti lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
