Frances Barth (b. 1946, NYC) studied at Hunter College, where she received her BFA and MA in painting. She has exhibited widely in both solo and group exhibitions, and her work is represented in numerous collections, including those of MOMA, the Metropolitan Museum, the Whitney, and the Dallas Museum of Fine Arts. Early in her career, she performed with Yvonne Rainer and Joan Jonas in NYC. Awards include National Endowment for the Arts grants in 1974 and 1982, a Guggenheim Fellowship in 1977, and the Joan Mitchell Foundation grant in 1995. Barth taught at Yale and is the Director of Mount Royal School of Fine Art at Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore. Her web site is http://www.francesbarth.com.
