WriterBernd Heinrich
is the author of many books of nonfiction including Bumblebee Economics, Insect Thermoregulation, One Man’s Owl, and Ravens in Winter. He is also the author of numerous articles, book reviews, book chapters, and essays. He was a Guggenheim and Harvard Fellow. He is the recipient of many awards for writing including the Burroughs Writing Award, L.L. Winship Book Award, and the New England Bookseller’s Award for Nonfiction. He has a Ph.D. in Zoology from the University of California, Los Angeles, and is a professor at the University of Vermont.
