Tashi Norbu,

The Shelley & Donald Rubin Foundation Fellowships at the Vermont Studio Center (VSC) were established to support artists from Bhutan, India, Mongolia, Nepal, or Tibetan ethnics living in the TAR and other parts of China, and Tibetan members of the Diaspora living in other countries who are engaging in or responding to traditional Himalayan art forms. In its forth year, this fellowship program works to broaden opportunities for intercultural dialogue here in the United States.
The two fellows will arrive in Johnson, Vermont to spend two months working at the Vermont Studio Center with 50 other artists and writers in residence, providing all the participants with an exciting opportunity for exchange and dialogue. In addition to the benefits of cultural exchange as part of VSC’s international creative community, each fellow receives round-trip airfare, traveler’s health insurance, and a cultural trip to New York City, where the artists spend a few days visiting the Rubin Museum and other major New York art museums as well as studios and galleries.
